Thoughts of the week…

01) Just a word of advice, if you’re invited to a wedding with a gift registry – act immediately. If you leave it until a fortnight before the wedding you could end up like me and very nearly be the girl who gives the couple a whisk and a pillowcase as a present (luckily I narrowly managed to avoid this situation).

02) I was so excited to see a West Australian team make it into the grand final this year, and was sad to see them lose. Better luck next year, Fremantle!

03) Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad. BREAKING BAD. One more sleep, one more episode.

04) As it turns out, the Make Up Forever HD Blush in ‘Nip Slip’ is basically perfection.

05) I had a bit of drama with the dress that I ordered from ASOS with the intent to wear to a friend’s wedding next week. It was taking longer than usual for the package to arrive so I thought it might be a good idea to log onto the website and have a look at the progress. I signed on, checked my order status and was greeted with the words ‘ORDER UNSUCCESSFUL’. I’m sure you can imagine the blood-chilling terror I experienced in that moment. Thankfully I logged onto the site the next day to obsessively stalk the dress and my size had come back in stock. God bless people who return things.

06) This is unbearable.

07) American Horror Story starts up again next month and they’ve released the official opening sequence for this season. If you’ve ever watched this show, you know that the opening titles are pretty much the most terrifying thing you’ll ever experience. Especially if you’re home alone at night imagining Bloody Face creeping up behind you.

08) Jimmy Fallon hosted another lip sync battle, and it was fun but lets be honest nothing can ever compare to John Krasinski stripping while lip-syncing to Boyz II Men .

09) One Direction are in Perth and Harry Styles and I are now married.

10) I didn’t manage to find the IKEA flamingo drink trays, but I did score some gorgeous short cocktail/drinking glasses from the same design range. They have a lot of fun things out for summer at the moment, and I’m considering heading back to pick up some of the tall pineapple print drinking glasses. COCKTAILS AT MINE, GUYS.

Product Review: Urban Rituelle Turkish Rose & Vanilla Shower Gel

Well ladies, if you’ve ever wanted to smell like a delicious slab of Turkish delight; THIS IS YOUR CHANCE. This shower gel ranks way up there on my imaginary list of all-time best smelling beauty products. I have a couple of other products from this range that I am dying to try and I’ll be getting onto them very soon, but for now I’m working my way through this and I am loving it. This shower gel has a very light formula, it’s a thinner consistency than what I’m used to, but I like it. It bubbles up easily (soft little luxurious turkish delight bubbles) and leaves my skin feeling soft and nicely moisturised. The scent of the gel lingers on the skin for a little while, which means I get to curl up in bed following a hot shower after a long day and dream of eating Turkish Delight all night long. Which, frankly, is all I’ve ever wanted from a shower gel. The Urban Rituelle Turkish Rose & Vanilla Shower Gel retails for $27.95 AUD and is available for purchase online (please note: this product was sent to me for consideration for review).

Project 100 Pan (repurchased)

I’ve mentioned all of these products before, and obviously I love them because they’re things that I repurchase time and time again, so I’ll just give you guys a general list of what I finished (and replaced) recently: Nivea Fragrance Free Facial Cleansing Wipes (x 3), Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens (x2), Beauty Blender Sponge, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (x2), Lancome Hypnose Mascara, Burt’s Bees Honey & Sugar Scrub, and Terax Crema Conditioner. I would consider all of these products to be my ‘holy grail’ items. Buy them.

Thoughts of the week…

01) I think I’ve decided on a hotel to stay at at during my trip to Bali next year. The Stones in Legian, I’m coming for you.

02) I made this chorizo & goats cheese tart last weekend and it was amazing. It’s also incredibly easy to make, so if you need something fast and simple to add to your weekly dinner routine be sure to check it out. Thanks Lo.

03) Honestly guys, if you’re not watching Breaking Bad I think there might be something wrong with you. THERE ARE ONLY TWO EPISODES LEFT. I’m dying.

04) The Mindy Project and New Girl are back! To add into the Wednesday night comedy mix, Brooklyn Nine Nine also started up this week. I’m a huge fan of Andy Samberg so I can see myself getting obsessed with this show. On top of that, Parks & Recreation returns next week. Yes.

05) While we’re discussing television, can I request a moment of silence for The Killing, which has been CANCELLED yet again.

06) Kimberley directed my attention to Social Workout earlier in the week, and I’m so glad that she did. If you’re a fan of obsessively tracking things that you do, you’ll love this. If you sign up, be sure to join our team and help us compete in challenges!

07) I’m gonna sneak another television reference in here (I do have a social life, I swear…) and mention The Leftovers, which my girl Liv Tyler has signed up to be a part of. It’s also about the end of the world/the rapture so y’all know I’ll be tuning in to watch this.

08) Urban Rituelle currently have 20-60% off their online stock, just use the code SPRINGSAVE. Hurry though, the sale ends on Sunday! I highly recommend the Turkish Rose and Vanilla range, and the Mango Milk body splash because it’s sweet and summery and delicious.

09) Kings of Leon release their new album Supersoaker on the 24th. Kings of Leon albums are usually the soundtrack to my summer, so I’m pretty pumped.

10) It has become my life’s purpose to hunt down the flamingo drink trays from IKEA.

Product Review: Mountain Ocean Skin Trip Coconut Moisturiser

I first became aware of this lotion after seeing it show up on various lists of ‘celebrity beauty favourites’ floating around the internet. It must have popped up on the list of a celebrity I stalk obsessively like, because my interest was piqued enough for me to purchase it. Guess what guys, I LOVE IT. I tend to favour lightly scented body lotions for the daytime (I’ve been trying to use up my more heavily scented lotions in the evenings after my shower) and this little beauty is one of the nicest smelling lotions I’ve come across. I also really really really love the packaging. I mean, really. The lotion itself has a very lightweight formula and it doesn’t feel that moisturising, but it’s enough for my normal skin. It sinks in straight away and leaves a very light coconut scent on the skin throughout the day. If you’re in the market for a nice, lightweight, summery body lotion, check this baby out. The Mountain Ocean Skin Trip Coconut Moisturiser retails for $9.53 AUD and is available for purchase from iHerb. Did I forget to mention how CHEAP THIS IS?

Project 100 Pan (part 13)

53) La Mav Wrinkle Smoother Complex – I have a LOT of skin care samples sitting in one of my bathroom drawers that I felt like I was never going to be able to use up (because I’m so strict about what I put on my face), so I’ve decided to start using them up on other areas of my body. This in particular I used as a neck cream and it was nice enough but I wasn’t a big fan of the strong herbal scent. My neck is still wrinkly.

53) Paula’s Choice Skin Balancing Oil Absorbing Mask – This was a nice enough mask, it was slightly ‘tight’ on application, but it didn’t leave my skin red or irritated once I’d rinsed it off. My face is still oily.

53) Paula’s Choice Hydralight One Step Face Cleanser x 3 – I take sample sized versions of my favourite skin care with me when I travel, and I used these up on my trip down south earlier this year. I love this cleanser, it’s my new magna carta holy grail.

53) L’Oreal Sublime Mousse Conditioner x 2 – I go through quite a few of these conditioners because they come with the hair dye that I use. They’re nice, nothing special. The packaging is pretty dumb though, it’s impossible to squeeze everything out of the tube and I often find myself in the shower angrily battling with these stupid little containers.

53) Olivina Lavender Hand & Body Lotion – I’m not a huge fan of lavender scented products but this wasn’t too bad, just not something I would consider purchasing a full sized version of.

53) Kiehl’s Crème de Corps – I really like this, it’s a great scent free lotion and if I had any need whatsoever to buy a new body lotion I would definitely consider picking this up.

53) Paula’s Choice Hydralight Healthy Skin Refreshing Toner – I used this sample alongside the Paula’s Choice Cleanser samples when I went on my trip earlier this year. I love this product, and I own a full size version of it already.
