July Goals

Hello! First of all, lets see how I did with last month’s goals

– Clean out my makeup collection
Get my licence photo taken and renew my drivers’ licence
– Finish planning our short holiday in July/organize my boyfriend’s birthday present
– Add a few more potted plants to our garden
Start the process to have any issues with the house fixed under the 6 month warranty
– Pick paint colours for the interior of the house

Getting sick really takes a toll on your motivation, doesn’t it? I came down with a bad head cold during June which sapped a lot of my energy. I’m blaming this for the fact that my ‘goal results’ for the month aren’t as good as they could have been. Hopefully July will be a little bit better, and I can achieve a few more of my goals.

– Finish planning our short holiday in July/organize Sebastian’s birthday present
– Organize three birthday dinners for Sebastian’s birthday
– Do my tax return
– Sort out my personal health insurance coverage
– Have my car serviced (and get the brakes replaced)
– Clean out my makeup collection

How is everyone else going with their monthly goals? Is there something you’ve been putting off doing for ages, that you managed to accomplish once you added it to your list of goals for the month? I’d love to how this format is working for you, it’s certainly motivating me to work on things that otherwise might fall by the wayside.

Thoughts of the week…

01) Ed Sheeran’s new album ‘X’ is out, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat for the past couple of weeks. It’s a non-stop ear party of beautiful songs and is the kind of album I can listen to from start to finish. My two favourite songs on the album are ‘Don’t‘ and ‘Tenerife Sea‘.

02) If you thought the goat version of the Game of Thrones theme song was good, you should check out the Jurassic Park one.

03) My boyfriend is back in town, which means we’re back into watching LOST practically every night. We’re up to the final season… I wonder if he’ll like the ending?

04) I picked this up at Priceline last week, and it’s a really nice little body lotion. The beautiful packaging is what drew me in, but the product itself is just as lovely.

05) It looks like Sephora will be opening doors in Australia soon. They’ve started up a twitter page for Sephora Australia, but online shopping is still a little way off.

06) I went to see Edge of Tomorrow last weekend, and the preview for ‘Into the Storm‘ was shown before the film. I am SO excited for this. Twister is one of my all time favourites, and it’s been way too long between tornado disaster movies.

07) I’ve been thinking about adding a few new items to my work wardrobe (I currently HATE every single piece of clothing I own – yep, I’m in that delightful phase of life), and these two dresses from Jacqui E are looking pretty good right now.

08) Homeless Fonts made by homeless people.

09) My favourite lip product brand Fresh have released their sugar shine lip treatment in tinted shades, and I can’t wait to get my grubby little mitts on these.

10) I’m nearly out of Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille perfume. I think I might have to break my no-buy for that, considering that I’ve already broken it to repurchase my Skindanavia makeup setting spray. And the TANDA candles. Hmm.

June Empties

Nivea Fragrance Free Facial Wipes (repurchased) – Are you sick of seeing these popping up in my empties post? Obviously I’m not, because here is yet another finished packet of my all time favourite face wipes. As per usual, I use these to remove my makeup before working out, and also on nights when I can’t be bothered with a full blown cleansing routine.

Paula’s Choice Hydralight Moisture-Infusing Lotion (repurchased) – This is another favourite of mine, and as soon as I finished up this tube I opened a brand new one. It’s been my go-to facial moisturiser since I first started using Paula’s Choice products last year. I can’t see myself trying any new moisturisers anytime soon, this is just that good.

Skindanavia No-More-Shine Makeup Setting Spray (repurchased) – Oh look, another favourite that I used up and repurchased immediately. I use this spray every morning once I’ve finished applying my makeup, and although I’m not 100% sure the effect it has on keeping my makeup in place, I do like the fact that it takes the ‘dusty’ look away from my makeup, and makes everything look much more natural and fresh.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in Fair (repurchased) – Yes, another favourite. I think I’ve gone through about 20 tubes of this concealer, and I still really enjoy using it. The biggest down side to the product is how MESSY the packaging gets. Still, the colour is a great match for me and I really like how light the concealer is, so I keep going back despite how grubby everything ends up in my makeup bag.

Lanolips in Rhubarb (would repurchase) – This was my favourite lip product for the longest time. Truth be told I actually finished this up quite a while ago, but for some reason it’s been sitting in my empties box ever since. I would like to repurchase this, but I can never find the rhubarb shade when I manage to find the lanolips section at Priceline, which is just as well hidden.

(sample) Phyto Express Conditioner for Fine Hair – This sample came in one of my last Sephora orders, and it was nice enough. I find it hard to form a strong opinion on products using one of these one-use sample packets.

What I Bought…

Hey guys, guess how my no-buy is going? What can I say, I appreciate any company with a strong social media presence. If that company also happens to sell candles in delicious sounding scents, there is no turning back. Yes, these were an impulse purchase and no, I don’t regret them. I love candles. Truth be told, I already have quite a few sitting in my cupboard waiting to be used but these ones looked too beautiful to resist. I picked up two of the medium sized candles in ‘vanilla hazelnut‘ and ‘lychee and black tea‘. My boyfriend works from home, and often has a candle burning when I get home in the evening and I can’t WAIT to have these babies making the house smell wonderful when I walk in.
