September Favourites

I just realised while drafting this post up that I completely forgot to write an August empties post. Oops. To be honest I’ve been sticking to a very standard routine lately, mostly because I’m on Project 100 Pan so I tend to choose one product and make an effort to use it until I finish it up. Some of my favourites for the month of September were:

Lush Sympathy For The Skin – This body lotion has shot straight up to holy grail status within the few months that I’ve owned it. It’s rich and creamy without being too heavy on the skin and I absolutely love the subtle milky scent. I highly recommend checking this out next time you’re in a LUSH store.

Burt’s Bees Honey & Shea Sugar Scrub – I’ve been trying to use up a few of my other body scrubs recently but I’m still using this (my holy grail scrub) pretty frequently. I love the smell of this scrub, it’s so sweet and it looks like it would taste really delicious.

Bloom Sheer Colour Cream in Coy – I’ve mentioned this blush in a couple of different posts over the past few weeks, including a review of the product itself. I absolutely love it and I’m so glad I finally dug this out of my collection and started using it. If you’re a fair skinned girl who wants a very subtle cheek colour, this could be just the thing for you.

Lanolips Sunshine Lip Ointment – This is another product that I feel like I’ve been mentioning a lot lately. It has been my go-to lip colour for a few months now and will probably continue to be my #1 lip product throughout the rest of the season.

evo Love Touch Shine Spray – This is another product that I reviewed recently, and I am still loving it and using it every day. It’s a great lightweight shine spray that also happens to smell like watermelon. Yum.

Product Review: Lanolips Lip Ointment in Sunshine

I am obsessed with this product. Obsessed. The Lanolips lip ointment is available in a variety of shades, with Sunshine being the brightest of the bunch. This is my go-to lip colour in the warmer months of the year because it’s so fresh looking and easy to wear. It looks bright orange in the tube, but when applied to the lips it comes across as more of a natural looking peachy shade (it also sheers out a lot more than the swatch in the picture above). The Lanolips ointment is on the thicker side, so if you’re not a fan of slightly heavier products on your lips you might not enjoy wearing this. One of my friends tried this when we were at brunch together one morning and she hated how it felt on her lips so if you think it might be an issue for you, I would suggest you try it out before you buy. The Lanolips lip ointment in Sunshine retails for $13.95 AUD and is available for purchase from Priceline stores or Australian online beauty retailer Adore Beauty.

July Favourites

Kerastase Nectar Thermique – I’ve been mentioning this product a lot lately, and it’s because I’m absolutely obsessed with it. I use it every morning before I heat style my hair (I try to let my hair dry overnight, but I need to blow dry my fringe in the morning to help deal with my double cowlick situation) and it really seems to help protect my hair and combat flyaways.

Lanolips Golden Ointment – This has been a lifesaver for me during the cold weather in July. I suffered through my second headcold for the season which resulted in a dry skin issue around my nose that this product managed to clear up in two days. I’ve also been massaging a small amount of the ointment into my hands before bed at night as a heavy duty hand cream and it’s kept all dryness at bay.

Haus of Gloi Ghost Puffs Body Lotion – This lotion smells like lolly gobble bliss bombs (high five if you remember that deliciously teeth-rotting heaven in a bag). It’s a very strong scent so I’ve never worn it during the day, but boy oh boy is it a delight to smell in the evening. I have another full sized version of this in my cupboard, but if they re-release this scent at Halloween I highly recommend that any fans of sweet gourmand scents pick this up.

C.O. Bigelow Tinted Lip Balm in Lemon & Strawberry – For some reason I couldn’t stop thinking about this lip balm so I dug it out of my back-up product bin and opened it up. This was SO easy to wear, gave a hint of berry tint to the lips and smelled like lemon. I’m pretty sure I’ll get sick of the scent if I use it too much so I tucked it back into my makeup collection for a little while just to give it a break.

b Collection by Bloom 3-in-1 Liner in St Mark’s Square – I used this pretty much every day after it arrived in the June Lust Have It box, so I’m including it as a favourite for the month. I really like the wear and the colour, and the fact that it’s a roll-up style eye liner (something I’m leaning towards more and more lately) so I enjoyed using this.

August Favourites

Ahh, farewell to August. I am already in a Spring state of mind and looking forward to the warmer weather, though I know that feeling will pass as soon as we have our first 40 degree day. My favourite products throughout the month of August were as follows: NP Set Calming Pre-Foundation Primer, OPI Bubble Bath Polish, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coral Berry, Lanolips Lip Ointment in Sunshine and Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser.

Recent Beauty Haul

Pictured above are the products that I purchased before and during my trip to the wonderful city of Sydney. I’m not really sure why I purchased anything before going as the shopping in Sydney is pretty amazeballs, but I did so here we are. I managed to track down some of the old MOR Milk stock at a DFO in Homebush and was absolutely thrilled with my find. This is one of my all time favourite scents, and I am totally bummed that MOR have discontinued it. (Though according to their Twitter account, the closest scents in the current range are Honey or Candied Vanilla Almond) I also purchased the Flourish Body Milk in Saltwater, a Lanolips Lip Ointment in Sunshine, two mini Bloom soaps in Vanilla Bean and Brown Sugar & Fig and a b collection by Bloom Cheek Tint in Yarra Valley. I also picked up a MOR perfume oil in the scent Marshmallow and 3 perfume oils from Flourish in the scents Sugar, Almond Milk (a replacement) and Saltwater. And of course 3 of the b collection by Bloom nail polishes in the shades Seychelles, Santorini and Barcelona.
