NOTD – OPI ‘I’m Not Really A Waitress’

When I used to treat myself to manicures frequently (before I could no longer justify the cost) this was the colour I would always ask for. It’s a gorgeous deep shade of red with a very subtle hint of shimmer to it and I’d say it’s probably my all-time favourite red nail polish. You can pick up OPI’s I’m Not Really A Waitress for $19.95 from Adore Beauty.

NOTD – OPI/Sephora ‘Almost Famous’

The only time I wear glitter nail polish is around the Christmas and New Years holiday period,so when my mum brought me this OPI/Sephora nail polish back from the US I knew it had to be my New Years Eve shade for the year. It took around 3 coats to get an opaque coverage and the colour is a beautiful mix of champagne, rose gold and a soft pewter colour depending on the light.

Summer Polish Picks

The weather hasn’t exactly been typical for an Australian summer lately, but despite this I went ahead and pulled out my favourite summer nail polish shades in preparation for hot weather and sunshine. My top 5 favourite summer shades are: Essie Pink Parka, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Bloom Zooey (perfect for New Years Eve), OPI Big Apple Red (I’ve had this on my nails since the beginning of December and I can’t see myself changing it anytime soon – it’s the perfect Christmas red) and OPI Gettin’ Miss Piggy With It.

My Nail Polish Collection & Storage

As with most things in my life, I tend to go through phases with nail polish. Sometimes I go for weeks on end wearing the same shade sometimes nothing at all. Other times I like to mix it up and can wear 2 or three shades a week. Sometimes I watch 5 seasons of the X Files in a row and become obsessed with finding the perfect neutral shade of polish à la Dana Scully, but that is a depressing life story for another day. Here is my current nail polish collection, and how I store it.

I store my nail polish in acrylic cutlery drawers that I found in Big W. I sort them by brand rather than by shade because I’m more familiar with what I own brand-wise than what I have within a certain colour range. I’m considering doing a series of weekly posts where I wear every single shade that I own at least once next year and do a NOTD post for each. Let me know if that is something you would be interested in!

Essie Haul

OzSale often have tempting nail polish sales, and although I’m still not 100% sure about whether the stock is geniune I always manage to get sucked into buying something. This time around I ordered four shades from Essie: Merino Cool, Funny Face, Pansy and Boat House. (note: It was decided by the Project 100 Pan hive mind that nail polish is not counted as a new purchase)

Spring Polish Picks

As you can probably tell from the picture above, I have a rather particular palette when it comes to the nail polish colours that I wear in Spring. I opt for light pinks, peaches and purples with the occasional coral shade thrown in for good measure. I picked out my top five favourite nail polish shades for Spring to share with you, and they are: Bloom ‘Flamingo Sands’, Sephora by OPI ‘How Cute Is That?’, Sephora by OPI ‘Casting Call’, b Collection by Bloom ‘Seychelles’ and Essie ‘Nice Is Nice’.
